6 BASIC STEPS FOR YOUR BUSINESS

6 Basic Steps for all.

When I was young, one of the strongest memories I have is how I always had a safety outlet, a refuge and a safe harbor.

I’m sure that I wasn’t very much different from other young boys my age – you know always finding some form of what we thought was good entertainment or loads of fun but parents and other adults were sure to take a dim view of the activity.

Well my recall is of many such episodes that my Dad took an extremely strong view of and as a result – you just know I was “going to get it!”

And I did, time and time again… but that’s just part of growing up.

As time went on, the learning curve of what I could do and get away with became the standard by what sort of things I could do with the least amount of negative results.

Through all of this – my refuge, my harbor, was my Mother.

Mom soothed my wounded pride and my ego and my sore rear end and tell me that things would get better and explain to me what I did wrong and how to change what I was doing so I could better understand how to improve and still enjoy my “fun.”

And as the years went by, I did understand how to still have my fun but to create that fun through positive steps, ideas and activities.

You could say that she was my tutor and instructed me in the lessons of life.

Let’s just consider for a moment how the above relates to whatever your business is.

If you are just starting a business or have been operating for some time one of the main things you should do or should have done is to make sure you have a good grasp of the minimum 6 basic steps of business if you are going to be successful.

The harbor for you in business is rooted in those 6 basic steps of business. You may have made some mistakes in the past or are even presently making mistakes or you just don’t know where to start. Once again – the basics of business is your answer.

Let’s just itemize some of the basics below here and if you are unsure of how to acquire the knowledge of any of these steps then I strongly suggest you look for a tutor, a course or someone in your field that can help you understand and apply the basics.

Here are the minimum 6 Basic Steps for your business.

1. Do you have an understanding of your market and how and where to explore and research what your market needs or wants?

2. Do you know the most productive ways to market your product(s)?

3. If you are going to market on the Internet - do you know what you are trying to accomplish (have a plan) and how to create a website or who can help you set up your website?

4. Do you know how to write sales copy or have access to someone who is proficient in writing copy and has a good track record of sales results from that copy?

5. Do you know how to use email marketing and how to build your subscriber (customer) list. Whether you are marketing on the Internet or have a physical storefront business – this is extremely important.

6. Do you know how to drive traffic to your website and/or your promotions?

Again this applies if you have a physical storefront. Do you know how to bring traffic into your store and get traffic when doing any promotions?

These are but a few of the very simple basics and you need to have a good grasp of these basics if you are to succeed in your business.

If you don’t you are “going to get it” (as mentioned above) because your customers or prospects will not come to your website or into your store. Without customers or prospects you are dead in the water. No sales happen and you can’t afford to stay open with no results!

Let me say once again – if you don’t have a good working knowledge of these basics – Get help now! There are many good courses on teaching the basics of business and how to apply them to your particular business.

Can you afford not to do these 6 Basic Steps?

I apologize if this ruffles your feathers if you have already been operating a business –But ask yourself honestly – do you understand and apply these simple basics?

Even if you have these basics covered, (and I hope you do) there are still many more basic concepts of business to learn and apply.
